About the Role

We're seeking a Systems Engineer to assume a crucial position in bolstering WSO2's Digital Operations team. Your responsibilities will encompass the management and upkeep of our global and local infrastructure, ensuring its alignment with ISO 27001 standards. This encompasses a diverse range of elements such as Linux-based systems, cloud services, network infrastructure, and data centers. In this multifaceted role, we anticipate a strong enthusiasm for acquiring and applying new technologies.

Our infrastructure encompasses a blend of operating systems, including Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. Consequently, you'll be tasked with furnishing hardware and software support as well. It's worth noting that certain responsibilities may necessitate extending your work hours in response to urgent situations.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Take care of the overall security of WSO2 aligning with ISO 27001.
• Overseeing and supervising the alignment of all deployed systems and infrastructure within the organization with the company's guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This includes the tasks of installing, configuring, and testing operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting of Linux Based Servers
• Ensuring that infrastructure systems receive timely patches to address vulnerabilities.
• Overseeing, fine-tuning, and supervising a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system to detect possible threats and suspicious patterns.
• Build company-wide processes to improve the security posture of the IT infrastructure and cloud deployments.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong Systems security background with good understanding in latest security principles, techniques, and protocols. Preferably previous ISO 27001 exposure will be an added advantage.
• Hands on experience in Linux systems administration, [ RHCSA, RHCE would be an added advantage ].
• Build, Automate and support mission critical large scale infrastructure systems.
• Hands-on experience in Database systems, AWS, Azure, WAF (Cloudflare), firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and system security and network monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with web-related technologies (web applications, web services, service-oriented architectures) and network/web-related protocols.
• Familiarity with API security, container security, and AWS cloud security.
• Understanding security aspects related to key management systems, certificate management, encryption, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning and their management.
• Strong understanding of network and application security, cryptographic primitives, and authentication mechanisms.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Self-motivated, proactive attitude with a security mindset. Must be able to consistently deliver superior results with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal and written communication skills is a must.
• Working on long hours and weekends when it's necessary.
• 2+ years of industry experience
